(1) Clay insulating bricks belong to porous lightweight thermal insulation materials, the content of Al2O3 is 30% - 46%. The main raw materials are refractory clay or light clinker and plastic clay.
(2) Clay insulating bricks have high porosity, generally up to 40%~85%. Low thermal conductivity, low melting.
(3) Clay insulating bricks are generally used in the heat-insulating links of industrial kilns according to their performance characteristics, which can reduce the heat loss of kilns, save energy consumption and reduce the quality of thermal equipment. Sometimes it is also used in kiln lining which is not corroded by high temperature molten materials and corrosive gases. The maximum operating temperature is 1200 - 1500 C. The mechanical strength, wear resistance and slag erosion resistance of lightweight clay bricks are poor, so they are not suitable for the load-bearing structure of kilns and direct contact with slag, burden, molten metal and other parts.
